晚上6点左右，塔科马警察局接到报警后前往处理。
根据警察局的说法，一名警官赶到现场并呼吁人群分散。但是，人群包围了这名警察的警车，并开始撞击这辆警车。
警车后退，但人群不依不饶。
突然，警车加速前进，撞向这些人！
现场的录像显示，警车撞过一大群人，将其中几人撞倒，并完全压过一个人。

塔科马警察局星期日表示，开车撞人的警察已经工作了近30年。已经被休假，接受调查。
